singal lights on 06 Ponataic Montana

Asked by RenoGuy Jan 29, 2020 at 07:43 PM about the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6 Extended Minivan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

signal lights not working , but all the blubs work fine , plus i just changed
them to be doublely sure.
When signaling L/R , the indicator light on the dash is flashing fast ( hence
should be a bulb problem )  but as stated, the bulbs are all good.
The 4-ways are the same thing, and also when I lock the van with the
remote( FOB ) my lights, the lights don't flash either, but the horn will sound
I figured a turn signal relay could be the issue, but I can find Nothing in either
fuse box to show that one exists ... however , I was able to buy one , But
have no idea where it would go .

They are typically canister shaped with 3 prongs protruding from a single side that plug into a socket located under the driver's side of the dash.

Thanks kindly for your answer . I've had the two cover pieces from under the dash/steering column off , and did the contortionist thing , reaching around and twisting to get a good look around up in there, with flashlight and even large magnifying glass . and see nothing.. So getting really frustrated and piss off , I went back to the beginning and started the whole thought process again. This time, I actually ...pulled the fuse from the interior fuse box ( the only thing that I could find that said anything about turn lights etc ) ...the first time I checked it I only looked at it in place ...with the understanding that if it was blown/tripped , it would be visibly black/darkened . and it looked no different than any other fuse in the box .. Ok , this is when/where I started the whole ...why the f--- didn't I pull that the first time ...because , yes, the fuse was no good ... but iI will say that it did take the mag glass and the sunshine to see it well enough to see that it was separated . New fuse , and all works good for now ... still need to figure out WHY it triped in the first place . I figure I may have to replace that fuse again , so I bought 10 new ones . ( i find if I'm ready and expecting something , it doesn't usually happen . :-) :-) Thanks kindly Bob . .
