My 90 civic dx wont turn over....one click, thats it.....?

My 90 civic only clicks....lights work......wont
turn over

If it makes just one click the the chances of the solenoid on top of the starter has went bad and needs replaced. Check with you parts supplier, sometimes it is cheaper to replace the entire starter assembly than just the solenoid.

Forgot to,mention that sometimes tapping on the starter with a hammer will "shock" it and it might crank over and start the engine but it will only work one possibly two times.
