Honda 2012 CR-Z, automatic shift.

I bought it used from the local dealer, and have  had it serviced by a local
garage which has been doing our cars for twelve years without incident. The
problem is the battery! The car is right now sitting in the garage, running,
after about the sixth re-charge by the local AAA folks; luckily we have upper-
level AAA so none of this has cost us. My question is WHY does this car
keep refusing to start? I just spoke to the Honda dealer and was told it's
because I drive SHORT distances around town so the computers in the car
can't recharge adequately to start the car up again the next day. Actually this
really IS how I drive it, though on three days of the week it gets more
mileage put on it. Has anyone else HEARD of this, let alone experienced it?

elliealtoid, the Honda dealer is correct. Cars years ago did not have this "short distance" driving problem but many cars today do. Try taking the car out for a good LONG drive for an hour on an interstate (30 min out and 30 min back home) once a week and that will give it all it needs to boost that battery. Now if you've had the prob over and over, you might need to buy a new battery and then make sure and do the once a week long drive. Honda is telling you the truth and so am I ....from experience. And I didn't believe it at first either.
