2016 Honda Civic battery keeps dying

Stopped for gas and I had turned the car to
auxiliary and was playing music on media.
My boyfriend didn’t realize that and turned
the car on. The battery died, all the warning
lights came on. We got a jump, called the
dealer and they told us to turn the car off and
back on. The lights went off, we were happy
but since then the car battery randomly dies.
We could go days or a week without this
happening but then randomly dies and we
have to get jumped again. We had the dealer
check out the battery and connections and
everything is fine. It’s so unsettling to never
know when you may be stranded!

That sucks. First get a portable jump starter on Amazon or eBay, I have one and it has saved my bacon several times, $70-100 is a small price for the reduced anxiety. Secondly, try to avoid running the vehicle on accessory, the Gen X Civic battery is not designed for that. Another recommendation is don't do consecutive short trips (less than 5 minutes), starting the car is a huge drain on the battery. Once the car is running the alternator powers EVERYTHING and charges the battery so give it some time to charge the battery and jam out to some tunes. Finally, you may have a gremlin, I have had a few on my 16 Civic, the first model year of the Gen X seem to have some minor flaws. Good Luck :)
