Fuel filter in a 92 honda civic

Asked by Amanda4689 Sep 04, 2017 at 04:11 PM about the 1992 Honda Civic EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 92 honda civic that is acting like it needs
the fuel filter changed but I couldn't find it and the
guy at jiffy lube said it doesn't have one. Is that
right? That seemed really weird to me, unless
theres a screen in the fuel pump maybe?

Ridiculous! If there is fuel, there will be a filter for it! Your Civic's is located on the firewall at the rear of the engine bay near the battery tray. Black cylindrical unit with solid metal lines running in and out of it. Jiffy Lube techs aren't usually trained or knowledgeable mechanics, hence their oil tech positions at a 30 min or less vehicle maintenance facility.

I believe it is in engine bay on firewall on opposite side of passenger. I had a 91 civic and it was in this spot. Looks like an oil filter installed with hole up.
