If it flashes on when you start it, it is NOT burned out and the station you went to is full of idiots. Have an auto part store do a free check for stored problem codes, if there are none it should pass. If it fails and no codes, the fail sheet will tell you why it failed and you will know where to begin looking for the problem. Not all parts of every system will trigger a check engine light all the time, but if something is wrong it should show in a code scan.
