Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1992 honda accord a friend have gave me
used with 266,000 miles . When I got it , it ran for
like a week . A problem occurred within the
charging system(6 month old battery) so i replace
alternator. Car drives fine for another few months
but then ac compressor seized up ,broke 2 belts. I
replace ac compressor and both belts, drives fine
again for another few months. Then I begin having
overheating problems, replaced water pump,
timing chain&belt, new timing cover gaskets,
thermostat, top&bottom radiator hose. Problem
stops... 2 months later a distributor went out ..
replaced that . Now my car is overheating again
and the valve cover gaskets leaked everywhere
and all in my spark plug wells... I replace valve
cover and all o- rings BELOW & ABOVE the rocker
arm assembly ... Then oil seeps all in spark plug
wells again. I finally deal it all up,  try to get most
oil out and car now start ..... at all. I get in it turn
the key , the car beeps, dash cluster flickers and
brake lights flashing ..... help at this point with all i
have already put in it , what could be the problem
and would it be worth it to keep throwing $$$$ at it
??.. pls help

you are driving a bottomless pit! an automobile with 266000 is going to cost you money thats probably why he gave it to you, take it on a one way trip to the junk yard and get another or my advice to you is to take your automobile to your local shop and a qualified technician should be able to diagnose the malfunctioning automobile

Db2451- Well, you mentioned that you replaced the timing chain above;. there's NO timing chain on this car, you must have meant timing belt. Anyway, I agree with the first post, it's time to say goodbye..... donate this car..... Your "friend" didn't do you any favor, rather, he just dumped his problems on your doorstep....Get rid of this albatross.....find another car to spend your money on... Good luck.
