what type of shock best for 2000 explorer, 200k miles

Asked by Jul 16, 2017 at 11:50 PM about the 2000 Ford Explorer Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

some dampness bottom both front shocks. these are from factory not sure if
original. i believe  vehicle has become to sensitive to road not being real
smooth. rest of suspension parts have some wear but meet tolerance. stick
to manufacture specs or buy ride type to compensate for high miles
moderate wear. firmer, softer, or trial and error. do not want to spend big
bucks on modifying for those special air ride. might even be  true method to
go by. maybe do not bother until every rubber and metal piece checks out
true. thanks
