93 Honda civic break system
So i am driving my brothers 93 Honda civic and the
breaks are spongy but i have bled the breaks and
that didn't help and maybe even made it worse and
the front passenger side break wasn't gushing fluid
but only letting tiny amounts out and the rear
drivers side lockes up and then will release like
there is a pressure leak somewhere. It doesn't leak
fluid from what I've seen and I can't even drive it
now cause I have one break line off. Could it be the
proportional valve or the master cylinder or
I would grab someone to help you as you bleed the brakes, I bet there's way more air in the lines then you think. Before you open the bleeding valve first remove the brake fluid reservoir cap then have someone hold the brake pedal down to the floor all the way, open the valve until liquid comes out with no air then shut the valve. Fill the fluid to the line in the reservoir and maintain that level then have your helper lift the brake pedal up. Repeat a few times at each wheel. Do that for all lines being bled.
I have been. And i have gotten air out and now all the fluid is clean when it bleeds out. I am gonna try to replace the proportional valve on it and see if that helps
Was the PV leaking? Anyway, good luck and it looks like you'll have to bleed the system again after replacing that as well. Also, I forgot to mention that sometimes the caliper pins get locked up because the boot moves and the seal is broken and the grease leaks out. It can make the brakes feel spongy as a result. you might want to inspect those on the front brakes and the rear brake cylinders on the rear brakes.
Ok. I will check the pins too. I didn't really look and I am still young and new to cars but the of wasn't leaking. The system didn't seem to leak from anywhere
