No it would not, it does stop the engine oil from coming out tho. The oil pressure sending unit measures the oil pressure of the engine. When they go bad they can leak oil out of the engine.

so on the 5.4 triton were would the oil pressure sending unit be at on the motor

Standing in front of the vehicle with the hood open, it is somewhere on the front right side of the engine.

so its rite next to the oil filter then were is the oil pressure switch located at

people were telling that the oil sending unit is rite on the back side of the oil filter. but i think ur saying that its on the front side of the motor so now im confussed

Well there would be some wiring plug on the oil pressure switch. All I have to go by is a drawing from Edmuns manual to look at. If you plan on replacing it, just go to the parts store and get one so you would know what exactly it looks like. You know the area where it goes.

Right and Left sides of vehicles are interpreted when sitting in the vehicle facing forward and not standing in front of it. The oil pressure senor should be very near the oil filter.
