Asked by Ashlee May 29, 2018 at 04:08 PM about the 2004 Hyundai Elantra GL Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My hyundai overheated and started smoking when
I was driving it a couple weeks ago. Since then it
can get a couple miles before it overheats but I
haven't been driving it. What might be causing the
overheating that I could check out?

Well, make sure you not leaking coolant first, then the cheapest thing to do is replace the thermostat, but make sure you bleed the system really good after, or it will still over heat.
