Our 2010 outback with 100k miles had the 3 brake related lights come.
The dealer replaced the sensor in the master cylinder for #1200 saying it was faulty. 3 weeks later lights come on again and the replace the sensor again saying guess the first one was faulty. Light come on with in a month and they say the alternator is bad this time and replace that for $400+ and my wife is pissed (did they need to replace the sensors?). Lights just came on again and she's livid, I'm to busy to get it to the dealer 60 miles away (Modesto Subaru where we bought the car new). I told her to take it there and get a full refund under the lemon law. I see you say the O2 sensor could trigger these light to come on, does the code clearly say O2 sensor is out? Please help!
First of all lemon laws do not apply to used cars. The dealer might take it back but only as a good will gesture. Did you buy a warranty with the car? What lights are coming on? The CEL? Have the codes read to know more.
Are you saying you spent $1,200 for some sort of master brake cylinder sensor? What exactly did they do? This sounds like BS.
GuruVC7K- do you have the CVT transmission?? And, how is that working for you? Don't forget to have the CVT fluid changed, when you get the timing belt, radiator coolant changed at 105,000 miles. I would strongly suggest that you also have them check your water pump and thermostat...Use only genuine Subaru parts for all this. Preventative maintenance is the key to keeping your car in top condition. After 100,000 miles, this is mission critical. If you're careful, you can easily go another 100,000 miles. Good luck.
