Car alarm issues 2014 hyundai accent
My car alarm will not deactive if it is cold outside.
When I hit the unlock button, the doors open but
the alarm system stays active causing the alarm to
sound when the door is opened, and the car will
not start if the alarm is still active. This only
happens when it is frosty outside and is making
the neighbors hate me every morning at 730am
when I try and leave for work. Help!!!
I suspect that the battery in the key fob is low enough for the car to not recognize it when the car is cold. It happens. Replace the fob battery and this should correct itself. If not, you'll have to reprogram the car to the fob. It's a procedure described in your owners manual, available on line, just google your car.
After buying a new fob battery, attempting to reprogram the fob, I looked in the owners manual and it said the alarm system will not work in cold weather. How can I fix this, as it is always in the low 30s and I can NEVER start my car. Please help!!
If the alarm system will not work in cold weather and the car was sold in a cold weather location, go to the dealer and tell them you want to return the car for a refund. Then say you want to get Hyundai Corporate involved because they shouldn't sell cars in any location in which the car won't work: that's FRAUD. Then call NHTSA to report this. Go to your court house to get a lawyer referral; this usually gets you the type of lawyer to handle your problem and gets you enough time to present the complaint and discuss his method to handle it.
