What is the clicking noise when I hit the
accelerator? is it the fuel pump?

what kind of vehicle? sounds like spark knock. get better quality gas or maybe timing is off depending on year model and engine type. I hope that helps.

oops sorry yeh 02 VW, most likely spark knock, get your gas from a different station or add some fuel booster addetives.
