Opinion Question: When is it time to give up on having constant high priced repairs done and just get a newer car?

Asked by Jun 14, 2017 at 12:37 PM about the 1998 Honda Accord LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm interested in what others think about repairing an old car as opposed to
giving it up and buying a newer car. Repairs seem to come up every few
months. Thanks!

depends on if you like the current car you drive. aka no car payment, and cheaper insurance.

If you can do the work yourself you can keep and older car on the road for a long time and for not a lot of money. If you take it to a dealer for repairs you may be better off with a new car.
