Got overheated & now won't crank

Ok lets work backwards . If the water was being forced back out while attempting to start the engine it's possible the head gasket is blown and exhuast/compression is being sent thru the Coplant system . Not knowing how badly or how long it was driven overheated etc etc. 2nd Hondas have a coolant bleeder valve just off the thermostat housing ( they must be air bled or you will constantly have over heating issues ) I suggest a quick you tube video on how to properly bleed the sir from the system to save you even more headaches . 3rd since the alternator apparently shorted out I'd first look for blown fuses i.e. ign. 1 ign 2 ecm.etc. maybe you will get lucky and it will be as simple as that . As far as the smoke ..was it steam from the overheating or actual smoke like black/gray as if something such as wires ? If it was the latter you are in for an expensive repair depending on how bad the damage is . Just for general info .if the alternator wasn't charging amd the battery was on its way to complete discharge the cooling fans would have stopped and thus I'd guess caused the overheating issue . But again without being there it's impossible to say exactly what happened .Good luck

You probably seized the engine and/ or warped or cracked the head. I doubt an old car like yours is worth fixing so sad to say I think you need a new one.

Car overheated and stopped let it cool down put water back in it wouldn't start check engine.

I have a 2000 Honda Accord will crank but overheats I changed the battery and the crank sensor drove it around the block one time the gauge on the temperature was 3 bars away from the overheat now the car will not crank I need help
