on top of the engine around the timing belt

i have a question, i have a 2000 prelude,when i accelerante just a little bit thats when the sounds comes. there is a sound coming from on top of the engine just around the timing belt. anyone know what the problem might be.timing belt,bearings? can anyone help me!!!!

Hi cholo24! There's a tensioner on the timing belt that is probably the source of sound you describe, or at least it certainly could be the tensioner. The point is that you don't want to gamble that it's not timing belt related. You want to get it taken care of before the problem tries to jump out of your engine to get your attention. Take it to a dealer and have it looked over especially if it's been over 60K miles since the belt has been done. Good luck!
