I cannot unlock the doors to my 2000 Honda Odyssey van, so I can't unlatch the hood to replace a dead battery, any suggestions

Asked by Carl Jun 11, 2015 at 09:03 PM about the 2000 Honda Odyssey EX FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My keys won't unlock the doors manually on my van. It has a dead battery which I figure
is why the key fobs don't work. But how can I get the hood open in order to replace the
battery

it might be possible to make a small hook in the end of a coat hanger wire and reach up from under the van to where the release cable hooks up. slip your hook over the cable end and pull down.
