Once it is running it is almost like its choking out
and the check engine light will flash for a bit
then the car runs OK... Any ideas?

Start by replacing the fuel filter. Pull the check engine codes and go from there.

It could be a few things but you can start with these steps...Pull out each of your ignition packs one at a time and inspect for damage like cracks. You might as well pull out your spark plugs as well and inspect them as well.

About 3 weeks ago I went to start up my 2009 Honda Civic Sedan lx and lights came on and everything but wouldn't start. On the third time trying to start it none of the lights came on, so I changed the battery. I tried starting it with the new battery, all lights came on perfectly, but it wouldn't turn over. I changed the starter and the car ran fine with no problems for maybe 2 weeks. This morning I was driving down the road when the check engine light came on and the engine suddenly started to rev up uncontrollably. I was able to brake but it was very hard to do because the engine kept revving. Without my foot on the brake the car was going 30 something mph, when I braked and got below 15 I felt a hard downshift. Has anyone had these simliar problems or know what might have cause this kind of behavior? 3 Answers
