2000 Honda Civic won't start

Just purchased this vehicle. The battery looked
old so I figured I'd be replacing it shortly. But,
today I went to start it and the lights all came on
but the engine did not turn over. Also no clicking
noise. Is this the connection between battery and
starter or just not enough juice in battery to start
car?

you'll have to test the batt. with a multi tester , it should have 12.5 V , make sure the connections are tight ,, if it has caps it is old but you can pop them off and see if the electrolyte is covering the cells , you can add distilled water if they are low , try a jump start , it started when you bought it right ?
Advice: Never purchase a vehicle without starting it first and driving it. Then, ask if you can bring it to your mechanic before you buy it to have it assessed.

darn right , another ploy they use is "needs starter " or "brake line " so that you can;'t start it and hear the bad motor knock or can't drive it to find the tranny is shot , I don't care if it's mother taresa (well maybe her) don't believe what people say when they tell you "it's all good "
