Turns over but won't start

Asked by Sarah May 24, 2018 at 02:53 PM about the 2007 Ford Taurus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For about a month my car would want to start but
wouldn't unless I pumped the gas. Yesterday I went
to leave and it absolutely would not start the
engine. The radio and lights worked fine but even
with pumping the gas it wouldn't start at all.  My
step mom came to jump it and it didn't help at all, I
don't think it is battery related but trying to figure
out what else the problem could be

Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? I don't know what testing you have done?
