engine oil

Asked by John Jul 13, 2019 at 10:10 PM about the 2000 Honda Accord LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just got an oil change at just tires. The engine has 171,500 miles on
it.According to the paper work they put 5 quarts of 5w20 motor oil in it.The
owners manual recommends 5w30.Is that going to be a problem?Should I
take it back and ask them to put 5w30 in it.

I doubt this will be a problem but your car might use more oil than it usually does. Can't hurt to have them put 5W30 in it.
