So the tranny shop says it doesn't have a computer? Did they say why it is still slipping?

Code is "gear 3 incorrect ratio". I'm taking it back to the tranny shop today or Monday for him to drive. This was the code before the rebuild. He did say the 3rd gear was burned badly when he had it apart for the rebuild. Could this be a solenoid Ora sensor issue? Should the shop have the ability to repair? The shop has been open for 30yrs? Or the dealer?
