That really depends on how well the car is maintained, more than anything else. Regular oil changes are THE MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do to make a car last a long time. Change the oil RELIGIOUSLY every 3,000 miles, and the engine will easily last 200,000 miles. The same theory applies to all the fluids. Transmission, brake, and power steering fluids should be flushed every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. If you change these fluids at the intervals described you should get 200k or more out of it. Make sure to take care of minor repairs as they are needed before they become major repairs. If you do not maintain the car in this manner, expect to get 125k and the car will be worn out.

We bought a 88 LX new and drove it over 160,000 miles. Gave it to our son and his wife who put 8000 more miles or so on it until hitting a deer which totaled it. Our next was a 95 that went 96K until an impatient driver creamed it while passing a line of traffic in a no passing zone going the same direction just as my wife made a left turn. He hit the left rear corner, spun it out and, yup, another total. Our 02 that replaced it now has over 86K and is my daily driver as a regional sales manager. We're hoping the Edge we just bought in September will perform up to the bar set by it's 3 predecessors!

I recently passed the 200,000 mile mark with my 2005 Taurus SE. I am the original and only owner. Yes, I do change the oil every 3,000 - 5,000 miles and have had to do normal maintenance (serpentine, shocks, tires, etc.) over the ten years I have had the car. At my last oil change the technician told me "This is a really solid car for over 200K". So I plan to drive it another 100,000. :)

how well are the ford 2007 taurus good and bad please?

I have a 2007 Ford Taurus with 181,000 miles and is still going great. I change the oil every 5k. I just gave it to my grandson and I expect it might last him at least two years.

i have a 2003 taurus wagon ,changed oil and fluids by schec=duke still going strong at 185k and no rust looks like new inside and out!

I had a 2000 Taurus SEL. I put over 200,000 miles on it. I gave it to my niece and she thinks it is a new one. I ran all Mobil # 1 products in it. Changed the oil and filter every 5,000 miles. Had the fluieds changed out at every 50,000 miles. I had the tires rotated and rebalanced every 7,500 miles with a four wheel alignment. I had the shocks changed out every 100,000 miles. The car was in a garage. The leather was great. My niece will be a college student once we get this virus figured out.. I told her some may laugh at her and she said," Just let them!" I have purchased a new, never registered 2017 Limited Taurus with 109 miles on it. I can't believe all the items on the Limited. At 73, should be my last one. Lord willing.

I have a 2013 Ford Taurus Limited 147K, reliable, comfortable car. I will replace front struts and brakes (both original) next month. The key is coolant and transmission fluid changes every 30K miles.

My 2012 Ford Taurus SEL has 262,000 miles on it. Owners manual says to change transmission fluid at 150k, which I did. I only change oil every 5k. Still runs great. Never had a car last so long!

My 2013 just hit 225,000 miles. I just changed the rear brake pads! I change the oil every 10,000 at Walmart.
