2001 Honda Air Compressor keeps dying.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Honda Accord 4 cylinder. The air
conditioning compressor keeps dying. I have had to
replace the compressor 3 times now, and I have spent too
much money. The last time it died, white smoke came out
of the engine. This is ridiculous. AC is a must, especially in
southern Arizona. Could there be an underlying issue
causing the compressor to die. I know that it’s not related
to a leak. Any help or advice would be great.
