Orange service light

I have a 2001 Honda Accord just
had alternator replaced prior to
that the orange service light was
on after the repair was done it
was off but came on a couple
days later the repair people
suggested that I replace the
battery and as it was not up to
par could it be causing the
alternator to shift hard?

if the light is like this one then it means your oil need changed but if it your engine light get a code scanner and see what it says.Also it easy to turn off the maintenance required light it says it in your owner manual
