Why does my car try to run hot when the AC is on?The thermostat has been changed and I have coolant.If I go 70mil per hr it runs just fine.it runs hot whenever it's not in motion and AC is on

Are the radiator fans coming on when you turn on your A.C. ?

The water pump impeller is going bad. The water pump uses the same belt than the AC and therefore the RPM on the impeller has less traction. Less traction equal less movement of the collant thru the engine.. I will suspect that you should replace the water pump. The coolant needs to run at a certain speed in order to maintain a constant temperature in the engine. Piece of advise: if water pump is replaced, change in the same time the serpentine belt.

I would try cleaning the radiator and A.C condenser coil with a garden hose and nozzle or better yet a pressure washer. If the fans are coming on and starts to over heat just idling and drive and it and its good the radiator and condenser coil maybe partially clogged with dirt and bugs restricting air across the fins that maybe why it stops over heating when you drive because air is being forced through fins. Tortoine maybe right it maybe the water pump but I would try to clean the radiator and condenser coil fins first it is cheaper and worth a try.

I went to makanic he changed genuine thermostate and thermostate o ring and genuine honda antifreeze that bought it from honda delar.he changed everything when engine and radiolator was hot after 2days i saw the coolant plastic contenar becoming low why?

Im having the same problem with my 2007 accord 4cyl. It drives fine on the freeway and when your going but as soon as you stop for about 5-10mins with the ac on it'll start to jump up but it never got to the red. Is that the water pump? I just changed the thermostat and fresh radiator fluid and it still was doing the same thing . Anyone have any answers please let me know

I'm having the same issue with my 1994 Accord. If I'm driving down the interstate or even at 45 mph down a country road it's fine with AC on. as soon as I stop for a red light or try to go through Hardee's drive-through the hand will rise just a little ways before H & Scare the absolute crap out of me!! I noticed one answer above said to wash the radiator and fans with the water hose or at the car wash Well- I remember doing that when I was about 17 years old, I had to call my daddy to come and pick me up and have my car towed home. Although that's been some 16 years ago- Nope! Ain't doin it ‍♀️ Any other suggestions on how to do this without immobilizing your car for a couple days?

I have 2002 accord same issue replaced radiator it burst thermostat twice radiator hose heater hose hmmm I'll check weep hole and ac evaporator but its effecting how it runs once it gets hot on freeway wont accelerate very fast even if gauge is only half way seems like vtec or low oil at that point I'll post what I figure out I do all my work
