Delete Resister - Missing front passenger seat

Asked by Desmo Jul 03, 2007 at 11:44 PM about the 2007 Ford E-Series E-250 Cargo Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive a Ford E250 service van with the passenger seat removed. I know Ford has a "Delete passenger seat" option for these vans that come with a resister to fool the RCM into thinking the buckle pretensioner is connected.
I have measured the resistance across the PBT (Pyrotechnic Buckle Pretensioner) at 2ohm so I could easily put my own in there, but the OEM resister snaps onto the PBT wiring harness connector for a clean installation.
My local Ford dealer has no idea what I'm talking about. Can you guys find the part # for the resister?

Thanks
C.Collins

I've asked a bunch of mechanic friends and they can't seem to think of a remedy either. Maybe try ordering a ford parts catalog to see if you can find the part, or talk to a Ford mechanic at a different dealership who knows about the vehicle.
