Battery light on and car is squeaking

Asked by Abbie Nov 30, 2018 at 05:10 PM about the 2002 Honda Civic Coupe LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced the battery AND alternator
over the summer. Something in my car is
making a squeaking noise (no it’s not the
brakes), and it sounds like it’s coming from
the driver side of the engine.  I was driving all
over town this morning and it was fine, and
then out of nowhere my car just starts
squeaking. (My boyfriend says it’s squeaking
because it’s wet butt I don’t know how true
that is). Shortly after it started squeaking  my
battery indicator light came on. I have had
this car not even a year. I don’t know if And
this has anything to do with it, but the plastic
on the underside of my car is hanging off in
scraping against the road. I keep putting it
back on but it just keeps falling off.  I have
recently lost my job and can’t really afford to
take it to mechanic.

Alternator might be what’s squeaking. Ad for the plastic piece, just let it fall off.
