When you replaced the ignition switch did you re-program your key? To see if that's the problem hold your old key next to the new one ... if it starts you need to program your new key

Lost my old key and the ignition i bought was wrong im stuck and now im missing days at work ...but my civic is a 01 i dont think my key was chipped .....is there a way to patch up something in order to get it to run so i can drive into town to work for a week or so this way i can get a full paycheck and order a new ignition from Honda

How come you didn't read my answer? I told you to put the old key and new key together ;;; new key in the ignition ... old key and new key plastic together. The computer may pick up the code from your old key ... if it does .. you can transfer it to your new key
