I have changed my 1997 civic ex motor D16y8 with a D16y7 motor and put the D16y8 head on the newer motor. am I going to have any problems? i started it up and runs great except it stalls out after rpm

Might be. Could have different cam duration/timming then the other head. I would use the same head with the same motor.
