Coolant Temp and Engine Light

Asked by Christopher Jun 22, 2018 at 11:34 PM about the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive for Uber and I always get my car checked. After
stepping out to pick up an order I go and I find my coolant
temp was at 207 F. My engine light was on as well. Can
the coolant temp be the issue or is something causing the
temp to be high?

207 isnt much of a concern for an idling vehicle, they need airflow to run at normal temps. i see 207ish regularly in the drive thru but at that point the fan comes on and the temp quickly lowers. Most auto parts stores will read your codes for free and it doesn't take very long
