Car Radio System Install

Asked by MeKILLoH Dec 05, 2017 at 03:09 AM about the 2016 Dodge Charger SXT RWD

Question type: Car Customization

Hello,

I am wanting to upgrade my car Stereos all six of them and wanting to install
two subs and a 2000 watt amp. I heard that it probably might sound bad
since it has a stock radio, and not really going to work until i am able to
replace the current radio.

is this true or what shall i do?

If you're looking to add six new speakers along with new subs and an amp, you'll want a new head unit (radio). The reason is because factory radios are limited as to how much power they can send to the speakers. Even if you replace the speakers, this restriction is still in place. If you replace the head unit, you'll be able to get the full power from your new stereo system and yes, it will sound A LOT better.
