OnStar check engine and transmission no code listed

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine light came on and got onstar message to
check engine and transmission within 7 days. No
code number given and no obvious problem
noticed. Just turned 40,000 miles

Visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer for trouble codes. Most stores will do it for free. Post the codes you get and we can help further! Jim

Engine light came on while driving under normal conditions at about 50 mph. Stopped by Autozone to borrow their code scanner to pull the error code on a 2017 GMC Sierra Denali and there were no definite codes, just the following: P0700 Transmission Control system P0711 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance Doing research and found that there’s a pending class action lawsuit for many GMC vehicles due to transmission problems.. see photo
