Question type: Maintenance & Repair

switched cracked housing on key of 04 accord.  Locks work and ignition turns over but car wont start. Spare key works? What gives?

The key is damaged. If the security system cannot recognize the key the car won't start.

Did you switch the chip over? I had the same thing happen, and I found the chip inside the old housing. Put it in the new one and it worked.
