Your vent from the gas tank is not allowing the air in the tank to escape. Add gas very slowly or find out how to clear the vent.

do not fuel your car with the automatic shut off on the pump handle- just squeeze the thing while filling- you can preclude any accidents- if the nozzle still keeps clicking off, try holding the handle at a different angle- some nozzle angles and filler tube angles do not match- this is what your problem is-

My 06 charger started shutting down after refueling and I kept hearing all this B.S. About having to change the fuel tank and don't fill up all the way. I thought that's stupid your fuel tank just holds gas it's gotta be something else. I did my research and found the real problem. It's called a PURGE VALVE SOLENOID. It cost about $40 bucks and you don't need a mechanic. It's that easy. I changed mine and haven't had a problem since and It's been about a year. Try this if you don't want to spend a fortune
