Thoughts? Take it back to the dealership as it is under warranty.

I have 2016 Highlander and get a loud clunk when shifting from P to D. i took it to the dealer and the service manager told me it was the "park pawl" and it is normal. It is a new design that holds the car from moving when in Park and doesn't put a strain on the transmission.
