when I start my 1974 vw karmann ghia, there is a rubbing sound coming from the belt area? It also happens sometimes when I "rev" the accelerator padal? wondering what this might be? Could it cause the

Ok, the belt is actually fairly new. I was wondering if they stretch out at all after a bit of use, & then need to be tightened maybe? I talked to a guy who said it might be the fan in the back inside the "shroud"?.

You will have to judge that. If the belt breaks, stop the car.

It is a fan belt but it is different from other cars.
