Probably several reasons but in my opinion it is to make people go to the dealer for service.

It is a sealed transmission so no need for a dipstick.

the "official" explanation..... manufacturers dont want people to check their tranny fluid and put in the wrong kind when they think is low.. this is fine and dandy when the car is newer and has no leaks
