Does any one have trouble with their VW Beetle's driver's seat staying at the right height?

Sorry not an answer but my wife is having the same problem in her Beetle - not whilst she is driving but when she returns to the car. It is currently in the VW garage and I presume from the telephone conversation that they will be telling me that this is normal and not a defect. Have you had any further advice??

My car was recently at the dealer for another issue (mine is a convertible and the rear passenger window does not always stay up when putting the top up) and once again I mentioned that the seat is continuing to sink down. I am told by the dealer that I have the only Beetle that they have encountered with this issue. I am hoping to find people who have the same issue with their car so that VW Corporate steps in and does something. My only other explanation is that the car was made on a Monday after a party weekend or on a Friday when the factory was anxious to get home.

Not an answer but I have the same problem with my wife's 2017 SEL Beetle. It may take a couple of days for the seat lift to go down, but it always will and only on the drivers side. This has happened with the car ever since we bought it new in May 2017. I have taken it to the dealer and left it for a couple of days, naturally they can't get the seat to ease down. The service manager stated that it is a mechanical mechanics and the seat should not ease down. He also stated the VW has no recall on this and that I was the only person at there dealership that came in with this problem.

Thank you for answering. It sounds like the same exact problem that I had. The dealer tried to tell me that it was the way I got into the car. I turned that car in and got a 2019 Beetle and thankfully it does not have that problem. I was also told that I was the only person at the dealership with that issue.

I just bought a 2017 VW beetle and notice with in one week having it. I have the same issue along with the seat when the back part of the seat is tilted forward it ceases and it takes all of your power to pull the handle to get it to go back ... For owning a car for a week has already put a sour taste in my mouth ..not happy

Depending on your start service date and mileage, you may still be under warranty. The problem with my seat was that the lower portion kept lowering itself. The back part of the seat remained in place.
