2016 Dodge Journey

Question type: Car Customization

I recently purchased a 2016 Journey
Crossroad FWD and was shocked to
find that it did not come equipped with
automatic headlights. I made a call to
the dealer and asked if the switch
could be added and was told "no, that if
the car didn't come equipped with it,
they couldn't be added. Any input
would be appreciated.

Yes there are Journeys that come with the automatic headlight option and some come with DRLs and sometimes both, but from what I've found is that most likely you will have one or the other. This is just so strange to me that I traded a 2004 trailblazer with automatic headlights and DRLs, but rhisb2016 Dodge doesn't have them.

I wanted to update my post. I am at the dealer as I type this and have found out that the sensor for the ambient lighting that is required to switch automatic headlights off and on is actually not located on the dash, it is located on the backside(sun side) of the rearview mirror. The service dept manager here is going to do everything he can to "upgrade" my journey to have automatic headlights! Fingers crossed. I will update again after my visit today.

Hey Terry1411 I also have a DJ2016 SXT and I see the sensor on the back of my rearview mirror....what else did you need to do?

Apparently there is a code I believe it is LMK, but not totally sure about that, anyway that code has to be added using your VIN at the dealership. I had remote start added to my car and they also had to add a code, or so I was told. It doesn't affect the way the car drives, but I don't know why it wouldn't have that feature. I did find out that all cars made in Canada automatically have that feature, but if they're made it Mexico it's not a requirement. You can guess were mine was manufactured.
