On my 2016 Chevy Colorado Z71, there is a "slot" just to the left of the steering wheel. What is it for?

Question type: General

I'm still finding new things about my 2016 Chevy Colorado Z71. While wiping
down the dash yesterday, I noticed that there was a "slot" in the dash just to
the left of the steering wheel. The "slot" is just a bit wider than the width of a
credit card. I have no idea what it's for, and I would sure like to find out. Any
help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Did you look in your owners manual?

Looking in the owner's manual was the fist thing that I did, and I found no mention of it anywhere. I thought that maybe someone out there might know. Thanks anyway.

That's exactly What it's for buddy I think you have a WT model which means work truck

Hello Guru9BVMT, Thanks so much for taking the time to provide the information, it's much appreciated. Sometimes the most mundane things are the most mysterious, and I think this certainly fits that bill. Thanks again so much for solving this one!
