Check Engine light and cooling fan

Purchase this vehicle a month ago from a
reputable dealership in my township.  At the
beginning of the week had the oil change in
which my oil life was at 28%.  The following
day I notice the cooling fan kick in after
starting the vehicle.  The temp gauge did not
move after shutting the car and restarting the
vehicle the cooling fan shut off and temp
gauge was at the norm.  This situation
occurred three other times since Monday and
today it happen twice and now the engine
light came on.   Spoke with the dealer service
dept.  They said that I will have to take the
care to the Chevy dealership because they
have the right diagnostic machine to fine out
the problem.

All the more reason to check the oil level.

Plus check the electrical connection at the coolant temperature sensor. Sounds like it might be loose and not always making good contact. When this happens the computer will default to an overheating condition. The radiator cooling fans will run at high speed and the air conditioning system will be disabled. This will also trigger the check engine light. Visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer for trouble codes to confirm. Most stores will do it for free. If you get a coolant temperature sensor trouble code, there's your problem. Hope that helps! Jim
