Using a Ozone Generator on 2016 Sonata Hybrid

Asked by CuriousGeorge99 Aug 12, 2018 at 08:13 AM about the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a used 2016 Sonata Hybrid and
the previous owner smoked. My wife won’t ride in
the car and so I need to get the smoke out. Will the
ozone damage the engines battery since the air in
the cabin flows to the battery in the rear of the car?

1 Answer

Not really what I was looking for. I’ve researched the issue and I’ve spent well over hours cleaning the carpet seats and roof liner with a degreaser which are the hardest to clean and still it stinks. I’m well aware of my options - my question is specific to a concern I have about using a Ozone Generator in the Hybrids interior where air flow to the battery is required.
