We have a 2016 Ford fusion energy.  Up until a week ago, we were getting
21 miles a day (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less - depending
on driving). The EV available that comes on immediately after starting the
car in the morning has dropped from 21 to 15-17.  My driving, which is
always just errands around town - has not changed, and I rarely used gas
before.  Now I run out of charge after 15 miles and use gas every day.  
What's going on,  The dealer says it's nothing - I disagree.  Is it a sign the
battery is going?

I had the exact same experience. I think something is not right. I really regret buying this car. My 12V battery always keeps dying. I have to keep replacing the battery.

This response is way late for you - The range changes significantly based on ambient temperature and the electrical load you are using. Our 2013 Energi reports 20 mile range in the summer (70+ degrees) and 10 - 15 mile range in the winter (20 - 40 degrees). If you turn on the heat/AC/defroster, the range cuts by 30 - 50%. Sweet spot is Fall and Spring with no heat or AC. The battery degrades over time. I am about to put in a new 12v battery. The first lasted 6 years and the second 4 years.
