headlight out

Asked by Aug 11, 2019 at 09:23 PM about the 2015 Dodge Charger SXT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2015 charger sxt awd...if you discovered a
headlight out before you assume you need a
bulb CHECK THE FUSE PANEL under the
hood there are two clearly marked 20 amp
fuses (LEFT HID HEADLIGHT/ RIGHT HID
HEADLIGHT) dont even think about it just
change the fuses first..its 4$...your about to
spend $400 if your going to the dealer to
have it done..140 if you buy the bulb at you
local auto parts store or role the dice on
Amazon (I got 2 Philips 6000k for 140)..
(same color and brightness but too early to
recommend) replacing was a breeze but it
didn't fix the headlight out...it was the fuses
all along..(one hint I got from a friend/  this
is an on going issue aggravated by moisture
causing the hid ballast to spike and surge so
when putting the cover cap (with the O ring)
back on the back of the light housing..clean
it and add a little light grease to help seal it
up !!)
