Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery light came on in my 2001 ford
expedition.. I had the battery checked and it
was a good battery so I changed my
alternator... I put a new alternator and belt on
and my battery light is still on.. And my battery
gauge is dropping... I'm lost at this point any
help would be helpful..

That's what I thought I tested it with a multimeter and it was pushing 11.69.. Took it back to auto zone and it passed the bench test..

11.69v is not enough to keep the battery charged! something is putting a drain on your electrical system. trouble shooting electrical is usually not for the DIY guy. All you need if you want to pursue it is a good volt meter and if possible a VOM. Good luck.

Thanx guys.. I swapped alternators again and still nothing... I gave it to my mechanic and he figured out I blew 3 fuses and a relay... Probably happened when I had to jump it to get it home.. I was trying to save a buck by doing it myself.. But it turned into something more then just an alternator... Thanx again
