95 GMC suburban rough idle and lack of acceleration

Asked by Jul 06, 2017 at 01:28 PM about the 1995 GMC Suburban K1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently my 95 suburban k1500 (fuel injected 350
rebuilt 100K miles ago) has been acting up. I have
noticed when I step on the pedal the power just
isn't there like it used to be. A few days after I
noticed the lack of power I was starting it up after
eating lunch out and the truck would fire up but idle
around 600 rpms and the needle would
occasionally bounce and it stalled. Had to start it
up like it was a carb. Once i revd it up it was
running pretty good but the power just wasn't
there. Went home and replaced spark plugs and it
didn't do a whole lot. I have also used the Lucas
fuel injector cleaner and didn't make a difference
I'm hesitant to take it to a shop to have it
diagnosed cuz I would rather do the work myself.
But I'm just trying to figure out whether this is a
vacuum line or if its a fuel regulator or maybe
something else
