Looking for my old 1972 Ford Torino last sold in VA
To all my friends in the DMV, I'm asking for your help.
I've decided to begin the hunt for Dad's 1972 GTS (Gran
Torino Sport) that had been in the family since the late
70s. Sadly, it was donated away in inoperable condition
when I was in high school. A week later a guy saved it
from the junkyard and drove it over looking for the title. It
was last seen approximately 10 years ago for sale in
dumfries in running condition.
It would look just like the one in this picture except it was
a hard top and did not have any stripes down the side. It
would be solid however in very rough shape (Would need
new paint, had some rust issues so would need
bodywork). Had a 4 speed automatic and a 351
Cleveland. Was painted dark forest green single stage
with no clearcoat.
I used to go straight to this car every day as soon as I got
off the school bus and sit in it while I did my homework.
This is the whole reason I ever got into cars in the first
To be honest, I have no idea if it is still even in existence
or in one piece, but for now am I reserving that hope and
would like to hopefully bring it back home with the intent
of restoring it.
If anyone has seen or knows the whereabouts of this car
please contact me. I am also not ruling out the possibility
that it has already been restored or at least attempted and
abandoned halfway through, so it may not look quite the
same as the description.
Please share this status on your wall or with your friends if
possible. I am offering a $200 finders fee to anyone who
can help locate it and put it back in my hands.
Going to hard with the new laws of the Drivers Privacy Protection Act.
