AC in 2015 Rogue

Asked by Heidi Apr 08, 2019 at 03:53 PM about the 2015 Nissan Rogue S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 Rogue. I’m unsure if I’m under
warranty still. The dealership mechanics were just
awful so I stopped using them.

Every summer (I’m in Southern California) my AC
has issues. The first 2 years I owned it I brought it
to Nissan and of course they found nothing wrong.

But once it starts getting hot (80/90/100 degrees
outside) I’ll run the AC with the recycle air button
on. It blows nice a cold. After about 5/10 mins the
recycle button automatically shuts off and blows
hot outside air. I hit the recycle button again and it
takes 5/10 mins of hot smelly HOT LA smog air
before blowing cool again. Then the process
repeats. 5/10 mins of cool then steaming hot.

I have kids and they just sweat I had a kid throw
up from the heat.

The dealership had said they found nothing wrong.
And this doesn’t happen in the winter.

Same thing with my 2015 Rogue. Every summer....issues. Now, it doesn't blow cold air at all. Dealership found that the clutch on the compressor overheated and melted causing the compressor not to engage. Parts/Labor is 1,095.00. My extended warranty (60 mths/60k miles) ran out 2k miles ago. I've started at case with Nissan corporate asking for a goodwill fix since I have documented info of this problem since we purchsed it. Awaiting their decision. My family has owned 7 Nissans and I love them! But, how corporate handles this will determine whether I buy another.
